Does an Arrest Warrant Ever Expire?

It’s important to know that there is no statute of limitations for arrest warrants. In other words, arrest warrants do not expire. To get a warrant removed from your record the issuing judge must close or revoke the arrest warrant. This can be done either by police executing on a warrant where the arrest has been made or the individual or defendant’s attorney files a motion with the court to have it removed. The reason of removal can be as simple as the statute of limitations on the crime itself has passed.
